Gramme - Mine
Bio:
When Emperor's New Clothes split in 1995, bass guitarist Luke Hannam
kept in close contact with Trevor Jackson who egged him on to form a new
outfit. Named Gramme, and featuring dual bass attack and vocals supplied
by Sam Lynam, they declared themselves hellbent on fusing the splintered
grooves of Liquid Liquid with the dub menace of P.I.L. Their second release
on Output, Pre-release sealed the bands reputation as punk funk pioneers.
The world was rocking to Gramme's sonic assault. "One of the best new
bands around, these invigorating live dirt-box variations capture the band
in the energised throws of a rehearsal room rinse out and possess a zest
and immediacy that may well have been lost in the hi-fi multi track quagmire"
